AZUSA, Calif. - Sophomore Allison Reaser improved four spots on the final day of the heptathlon at the Mt. SAC Multi's to finish in fourth place for the San Diego State track and field team on Thursday.

Reaser totaled 5,510 points, the fourth-highest total in school history and just 90 points shy of provisionally qualifying (5,600) for the United States Olympic Trials. Reaser, who had 3,258 points after the first four events on Wednesday, picked up 2,252 additional points over the final three events today.

Reaser began the day with a fourth-place showing in the long jump with a leap of 19 feet,3/4 inches. The 19-00.75 came on the second try of three jumps.

In the javelin, Reaser came in third of the 14 competitors with a toss of 124-07. It was a personal-best throw by two inches (124-05), set earlier this year in the heptathlon at the Aztec Invitational.

Reaser concluded her day in the 800-meter run, taking fifth in 2 minutes, 19.37 seconds. It was a PR (personal record) by 0.55 seconds and the fourth-fastest time by an Aztec this season (two-time NCAA West Regional qualifier Josefine Koskinen owns the three fastest times).

Competing unattached, Annett Fleming won the event with 5,851 points, followed by Wisconsin's Jessica Flax (5,662) and Dorcas Akinniyi (5,572). Reaser (5,507) and unattached competitor Susan Coltman (5,475) rounded out the top five.

Koskinen (1,500) and Marianne Hogan (10,000), meanwhile, didn't compete in their respective events at the Mt. SAC Relays on Thursday. Koskinen will still run the 800 tomorrow and will now run the 1,500 at the Beach Invitational on Saturday.

A host of athletes will join Koskinen at Mt. SAC tomorrow, while Ellie Fanaika will compete in the hammer throw at the Beach Invitational in Cerritos, Calif.
