SAN DIEGO -

SDSU 4, CSU 1

Freshman Kayla Jordan (San Diego/Bonita Vista HS) hit a two-out, bases loaded triple in the bottom of the sixth inning to give the San Diego State softball team a 4-1 victory over Colorado State Sunday at SDSU Softball Stadium. The win gave the Aztecs (21-19, 3-0 Mountain West) a three-game series sweep over the Rams (19-21, 0-3 MW).

With two outs in the sixth and junior Tiffany Corder (San Clemente, Calif./UC Santa Barbara) on first base via a fielder's choice, senior Felicia Reifschneider (San Diego/Morse HS) (single) and sophomore Hayley Miles (Antelope, Calif.) (walk) each reached base to extend the inning. Jordan then took a 2-2 pitch into the right-center field gap. CSU right fielder Lyssa Roberts made a diving try at it, but it scooted past her and cleared the bases. It was Jordan's team-leading fourth triple of the year.

Redshirt junior pitcher Rebecca Arbino (Clovis, Calif./Texas A&M) retired Colorado State in order in the seventh to keep SDSU undefeated in league play at 3-0 and tied for first place with Boise State.

Senior Ashley Rose (Antioch, Calif.) drove in freshman Jacki Campa (La Verne, Calif.) with a double in the second inning for San Diego State's other run.

Rose was a perfect 3-for-3 with an RBI to lead the Aztecs, while Jordan had two hits, three RBIs and a stolen base. Reifschneider was 1-for-1 with a run and a walk, and sophomore Hayley Miles (Antelope, Calif.) singled and walked to extend her reaches base safely streak to 27 games.

Arbino (10-8), meanwhile, allowed just one unearned run on five hits over seven innings, while striking out four. The right-hander retired 17 of the final 19 batters she faced.

SDSU heads across town to face San Diego at 6 p.m. PT Wednesday, before traveling to Albuquerque, N.M., April 20-22 for a three-game series at New Mexico.

NOTES: SS Hayley Miles scored her team-leading 39th run of the season, 24 more than the next Aztec (LF Kayla Jordan (15) and CF Felicia Reifschneider (15)). The 39 runs are tied with Brittany Knudsen (2007 and 2008) for the third most in SDSU single-season history and two short of Tiffany Goudy's school-record 41 in 2002 ... Jordan's four triples are tied for the third most in a season in program history and are tied with Hayley Miles (2011) and Stephanie Chapel (1990) for the most ever by a freshman ... 3B Ashley Rose went 5-for-9 over the weekend to improve her batting average from .228 to .261 ... PR/RF Jacki Campa grounded out in her first collegiate plate appearance and later had her first putout in right field ... Five Aztecs are hitting .500 or above after the first weekend of MW play, including Reifschneider (3-for-4, .750), RF Patrice Jackson (4-for-7, .571), Rose (5-for-9, .556), Jordan (5-for-9, .556) and Miles (5-for-10, .500). San Diego State hit .350 (28-for-80) over the three games and drew 12 walks for a .435 on-base percentage.
