The San Diego State lacrosse team held a 7-6 lead at the half, but was outscored, 11-4, in the second half in a 17-11 loss to Stanford Sunday in Palo Alto, Calif. The Aztecs finished their first-ever season at 5-10, including 2-5 in MPSF play.

SDSU scored the final five goals of the first half and took an 8-6 lead early in the second 30 when Jackie Mills scored off a pass from Isabelle Pickett with 29:30 left. The Cardinal (4-8, 2-2 MPSF) tied it up with back-to-back goals, but San Diego State answered with three consecutive goals by Ewing, Michaela Jarvis and Madeline Ross to open up an 11-8 advantage with 18:44 left. Stanford, however, closed the game on a 9-0 run over the final 15:01 for the victory.

Jarvis and Ross scored two goals apiece, while Lauren Maack added a goal and two assists. Mills, Pickett and Meris Walsh each contributed a goal and an assist.

Christina Ricciardulli led the Aztecs with six draw controls and also tied for team-highs in ground balls (two) and caused turnovers (two).

Sammy Slattery played all 60:00 in net and had eight saves.
