The San Diego State lacrosse team dropped a 17-7 decision to Oregon in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation game Sunday at Aztec Lacrosse Field. The Aztecs dropped to 2-5 overall and 0-3 in MPSF play, while the Ducks improved to 5-3 and 2-0.
SDSU got to within four goals at 8-4 at the half, but UO responded with eight straight goals to start the second half to take a 16-4 lead with 13:48 left. San Diego State scored three of the final four goals, but it was too little, too late in its third consecutive loss.
Lauren Maack scored a career-high four goals to pace the Aztecs. She also had career bests in shots (8) and shots on goal (6), while earning two draw controls. Jackie Mills, Isabelle Pickett and Meris Walsh also scored for SDSU, while Kelly Jones added an assist.
Pickett and Sophie Koubek each had three draw controls. Jade Jones, Pickett, Christina Ricciardulli and Walsh picked up two ground balls apiece, while Nicole Pullano caused two turnovers.
Sammy Slattery started in net for San Diego State and allowed 11 goals with five saves in 36 minutes, 57 seconds. Katelyn Luker played the final 23:03 and surrendered six goals with one save.
The Aztecs play host to Fresno State in their final home game of the season at 1 p.m. PT Tuesday.
