The San Diego State softball saw its four-game winning streak snapped in a 12-0, five-inning loss to No. 2/1 California at the Bayer CropScience Classic Saturday in Fresno, Calif. The loss dropped the Aztecs to 15-12, while the Bears stayed perfect on the season at 18-0.

SDSU committed three errors on the day and was outhit, 10-3.

Freshman Kayla Jordan (San Diego/Bonita Vista HS) was 1-for-1 with a walk, while senior Felicia Reifschneider (San Diego/Morse HS) and sophomore Hayley Miles (Antelope, Calif.) each added a single.

San Diego State's best chance to score game in the bottom of the first inning when Miles and Reifschneider led off with back-to-back singles. Senior Justeen Maeva (San Diego/Mira Mesa HS) moved both runners up a base on a groundout, but Cal pitcher Jolene Henderson struck out the next two Aztec batters to end the threat.

California came back with eight runs in the second and tacked on four more in the fifth for the 12-0 victory.

SDSU redshirt junior Rebecca Arbino (Clovis, Calif./Texas A&M) took the loss after allowing eight runs (six earned) on three walks, two hits and a hit batter in 1 1/3 innings. She had two strikeouts and dropped to 7-5 on the year. Senior Bailey Micetich (Woodland, Calif.) relieved Arbino in the second and gave up four runs (three earned) on seven hits, two walks and hit batter over 3 2/3 innings. She struck out four.

San Diego State wraps up its play in the Bayer CropScience Classic tomorrow with games against Purdue (8:45 a.m. PT) and No. 18/15 Oregon (10:45 a.m. PT).
