SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State lacrosse team downed the San Diego Lacrosse Club, 17-4, in the team's lone exhibition game of the spring Saturday at Aztec Lacrosse Field.
The scrimmage, the Aztecs' final tuneup for their first season in program history, had a regular 30-minute first half, followed by a 25-minute second half that featured a running clock.
The Aztecs outshot the SDLC, 29-8, including a 26-6 advantage in the first half, while controlling the possession for the majority of the game.
SDSU, which was picked seventh in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) poll released on Jan. 24, kicks off its regular season on Feb. 11 with a neutral game against Ohio State in Palo Alto, Calif., at noon PT. The following Friday (Feb. 17), San Diego State welcomes Cincinnati in the program's first-ever home game, beginning at 7 p.m. PT.
