FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Junior Kelsy Hintz finished second with a personal-best pole vault of 12 feet, 11 ½ inches to lead the San Diego State track and field team Saturday at the NAU Open in Flagstaff, Ariz.

The defending Mountain West outdoor track and field pole vault champion, Hintz cleared 12-11.50, bettering her previous indoor best of 12-10.25, set last year at the MW indoor championships. It is second-best mark in the MW this season and tied for 36th in the nation, according to www.tfrrs.org. It's also the fourth-best indoor pole vault in school history.

Hintz was joined at the NAU Open by five other Aztec pole vaulters as the six all finished among the top 11 of the 17 entrants. Sophomore Holly Waseloff finished sixth with a personal-best vault of 11-11.75, while junior Moriah Roberge was seventh with the same mark.

Sophomore Rebecca Turnbow made her SDSU debut by clearing 11-05.75 to finish in a tie for eighth, and sophomore Heather Arseneau and sophomore Kelsie Jarratt were 11th at 10-11.75.
