The San Diego State women's basketball team opens 2012 and concludes its longest homestand of the season on Wednesday evening when it plays host to Longwood. The contest is slated to begin at 7 p.m. PT at Viejas Arena and will be televised live on Channel 4 San Diego as well as The Mtn.

-SDSU Head Coach Beth Burns: Burns (Ohio Wesleyan, 1979) is in the seventh year of her second stint as head coach at San Diego State. She led the Aztecs for eight seasons from 1989 to 1997, before returning in 2005. She has an overall head coaching record of 332-241 in 20 seasons, while she is 251-176 in her 15 campaigns at SDSU.
-Longwood Head Coach Bill Reinson: Reinson is in his second year as head coach for the Lancers. He owns a school and career record of 8-31.
-Series History: Longwood is San Diego State's third consecutive game against a first-time opponent. The Aztecs will take on both of the independent (non-conference affiliated) NCAA Division I women's basketball schools this week in Longwood and CSU Bakersfield.
