SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State University athletics department invites fans to participate in the fourth annual Aztec Invitational. One of the department's premier fundraising events will take place Monday, June 20, at Bernardo Heights Country Club. Participants will have the opportunity to golf with Aztec legends, current coaches and student-athletes.
Some of this year's attendees include SDSU greats Michael Cage, Kevin O'Connell, Jim Allison, Jeff Staggs and Gary Garrison. Aztec coaches Ryan Donovan, Steve Fisher and Tony Gwynn will also be in attendance along with Athletics Director Jim Sterk and student-athletes from the 19 teams at San Diego State.
Prior to a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start, all attendees will be treated to a barbecue lunch provided by L&L Hawaiian Barbecue. After the round, golfers and guests will head to the "19th Hole" where a silent auction, opportunity drawing, awards ceremony, as well as a reception, will take place.
In addition to the round, there will be putting, hole-in-one, closest-to-the-pin and longest drive contests.
Aztec Invitational registration includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, range access, tee prize, BBQ lunch and reception. To sign up, contact the Aztec Club at (619) 594-6444 or click here for more information. All of the proceeds will benefit SDSU student-athlete scholarships.
