NSCAA All-Far West Region

San Diego State senior captain Daniel Steres (Calabasas, Calif.) has been named a first-team NSCAA All-Far West Region selection, the NSCAA announced today. Steres is the first Aztec to earn first-team honors since two-time All-American Tally Hall in 2005 and 2006.

It is the third postseason honor for Steres, who also garnered first-team all-Pac-12 accolades and was an honorable mention pick on the Pac-12 All-Academic Team.

A defender, Steres tied for second on the squad with 13 points on five goals and three assists, while leading the team with 1,759 minutes played. Steres, who was one of three SDSU players to start all 19 matches this year, also anchored a back line that finished the season with five shutouts.

A San Diego State player has now been on the All-Far West Region team (first, second or third team) in each of the past seven seasons (also Tally Hall - 2005-06, Nick Cardenas - 2006-09, Raymundo Reza - 2010).

The Aztecs finished 10-6-3 for their first back-to-back double-digit win seasons since 1991-92.
