Join Women's Hoops For 35th City Showdown With USD Thursday

SAN DIEGO - Join San Diego State's women's basketball team on Thursday, Dec. 8, as it takes on cross-town rival USD at Viejas Arena at 7 p.m. The Aztecs are holding multiple ticket promotions with offers for discounted and free admission to fans.

For any fan who wears red or black to the game, discounted general admission tickets can be purchased for just $4 each. Kids Free Night is offered for youths (ages 3-14) with the purchase of any $6 adult general admission ticket. In addition, all Girl Scouts who arrive in uniform will receive a free general admission ticket to the match-up.

Thursday is also High School Night at Viejas Arena. Prep coaches interested in obtaining free admission for their team can submit their rosters to cdeleon@mail.sdsu.edu by Thursday at 3 p.m., or contact Christian Deleon at (619) 594-0760 for more information.

The contest marks the 35th time the two women's basketball teams have met up for the city showdown. Last season, the Aztecs defeated the Toreros 72-63 in overtime at the Jenny Craig Pavilion. SDSU owns victories in three of the last four meetings.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. PT at Viejas Arena, while the game will be televised live on The Mtn. Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster at (619) 220-8497, via ticketmaster.com or by visiting the Viejas Arena Box Office or the Aztec Ticket Office at Qualcomm Stadium (window E).
