COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State men's basketball junior guard Chase Tapley has been named the Mountain West Co-Player of the Week, the league announced Monday morning. The award, which is the second of his career, comes after he averaged 20.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per game last week in two games against nationally ranked opponents.

On Wednesday, the Sacramento, Calif. native went 6-of-13 from the field, including 3-of-6 from 3-point range, to finish with 15 points in 34 minutes of play in a 85-83 loss to then-No. 22 Creighton. He also contributed three rebounds, two steals, one assist and one blocked shot.

Tapley followed that outing with a game-high 25 points and five rebounds on Sunday in a 64-63 win against then-No. 24/23 California, grabbing an offensive rebound and hitting two free throws in the final 23 seconds to preserve the victory, which was SDSU's second of the season against a ranked opponent. He went 10-of-17 from the field, including a pair of three-pointers, while going 3-for-6 from the free-throw line. Tapley also added three steals and one blocked shot in 33 minutes of action.

For the week, the 6-3 guard was 16-of-30 (.533) from the field, including 5-of-9 (.556) from behind the arc, while collecting five steals, two blocked shots and one assist with only two turnovers in 67 total minutes on the court.

San Diego State will now prepare for its cross-town foe USD on Wednesday. Tip is set for 7 p.m. PT at Jenny Craig Pavilion.
