Aztecs Look to Continue Success Over Pac-12; Welcome California to Viejas Sunday
* San Diego State continues its seven-week stay in San Diego on Sunday when it welcomes No. 24/23 California to Viejas Arena. Tip-off is set for 2:02 p.m. PT and the game will be televised live on The Mtn. and simulcast in the San Diego market on Channel 4 San Diego.
* The Aztecs come into the Sunday matinee having won eight straight against the Pac-12 Conference. San Diego State's winning streak against the league includes last season's 20-point victory at California, the two-point home win over USC and the four-point decision at then No. 23/23 Arizona earlier this month.
* SDSU suffered a rare home loss on Wednesday as No. rv/22 Creighton escaped with an 85-83 victory in the third annual Mountain West-Missouri Valley Challenge. The Bluejays snapped San Diego State's 27-game non-conference home winning streak and became the only team to win at Viejas Arena, besides BYU, since No. 15/15 Arizona State accomplished the feat on Nov. 18, 2008.
* Even with the loss to Creighton, San Diego State is still a tough out at home having gone 87-12 since the beginning of the 2005-06 season. Since 2009-10, SDSU is 33-3 in home games.
* San Diego State is facing its third Associated Press Top-25 opponent of the season and fourth that owns a ranking in the ESPN/USA Coaches Top-25 Poll. To date, SDSU has split its two games against AP-ranked clubs and is 1-2 against those with a coaches poll ranking.
On to the Next
* San Diego State has done a remarkable job of leaving the past where it belongs ... in the past. After losing at No. 11/12 Baylor earlier this season, the Aztecs returned to Montezuma Mesa and defeated USC with one day's rest to mark the ninth consecutive time they have followed a loss with a victory. The game vs. the Trojans was SDSU's fifth in seven days as well.
* The Aztecs have not dropped two straight games since the 2009-10 campaign when they lost at Wyoming and at UNLV on Jan. 9 and Jan. 13, respectively.
