SDSU Puts Three-Game Winning Streak on the Line Saturday at UCSB
* SDSU, which is receiving votes in both major college basketball polls, continues its most challenging non-conference schedule in recent memory on Saturday when it faces UC Santa Barbara at the Thunderdome. The game is set for a 7 p.m. PT start.
* Through Wednesday's games, San Diego State is tied with Alabama (6) for the second-most wins in Division I. Duke is the national leader with seven victories.
* At 6-1, San Diego State is 40-4 (90.9 winning percentage) since the beginning of last season. A year ago, the Aztecs, who finished sixth in the final AP poll and 11th in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches' Poll, finished with a 34-3 record after winning the Mountain West regular-season and tournament championships and appearing in the Sweet 16.
* UC Santa Barbara, the preseason runner-up to Long Beach State in the Big West, nears the end of its season-opening six-game homestand having won the first four games by comfortable margins. All four of the Gauchos' victories have come by double figures and by an average margin of 30.0 points.
The Lowdown on the Arizona Game
* San Diego State defeated No. 23/23 Arizona this past Wednesday at McKale Center to snap the Wildcats' 22-game home winning streak. The Aztecs never trailed in the 61-57 victory.
* As a ranked team, Arizona had won 62 straight games at McKale Center against unranked competition until San Diego State held them to a season-low 33.3-percent shooting performance to emerge with the four-point victory.
* SDSU, which defeated Arizona for the second consecutive time for just the second time in school history, posted its seventh straight win over the Pac-12 Conference.
* With the win, San Diego State improved 4-4 in its last eight road/neutral games vs. AP Top-25 teams.
* The Aztecs made eight of their 12 three-point attempts. The 66.7-percent accuracy marked a season high.
