COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - For the first in his career, San Diego State defensive back Nat Berhe has been named the Mountain West co-Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in last Saturday's game against Colorado State, the conference office announced Monday.
Berhe tied a team-high with six tackles, including his first two for a loss this season. He also forced a fumble and had an interception in San Diego State's 18-15 win at Colorado State.
The 5-foot-10 sophomore forced two turnovers on consecutive Ram drives in the second quarter. The first came at the SDSU 24-yard line, when Berhe forced the first fumble of his career, which was recovered by the Aztecs. On the next Colorado State series, he recorded his first interception against a MW opponent and second of the year. With the victory, SDSU became bowl-eligible for the second straight season.
The Aztecs will play host to Boise State at 5 p.m. PT on Saturday at Qualcomm Stadium. Tickets start at just $11 and are available through GoAztecs.com, over the phone by calling (619) 283-7378, or by visiting the Aztec Ticket Office at Qualcomm Stadium's Window "E" between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
