SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women's tennis team won three of its singles matches and all three doubles contests as it wrapped up play at the SDSU Fall Classic II on Sunday at the Aztec Tennis Center.
Sierra Ellison was victorious with a 6-4, 6-0 win in the singles-blue bracket against Air Force's Natasha Rizvi. In the singles-silver bracket, Roxanne Ellison earned a 6-2, 6-2 victory against Katie Wookey of New Mexico. Kristin Buth, meanwhile, picked up a win in singles-black as she defeated Hannah Dake of Air Force by the score of 6-4, 6-1.
In doubles action, Ellison and Ellison defeated the Air Force duo of Melissa Cecil and Tahlia Smoke, 8-2, in the doubles-red bracket. Emma Cioffi and Laura Antonana Iriarte earned a 9-8 win in the doubles-black bracket against Brooke Schweyer and Ali Facey of UC Irvine. In the doubles-white bracket, Buth and Dora Somoracz picked up the 8-1 victory against Air Force's Natasha Rizvi and Marcelli Magday.
The Aztecs will now be off until their dual-match season begins on Jan. 21, 2012, when they take on UC Riverside and Cal State Fullerton.
