SDSU Football Game Notes at Colorado State
San Diego State looks to become bowl eligible for the second consecutive season when the Aztecs travel to Fort Collins, Colo., to face Colorado State on Saturday.
The contest will be televised nationally on The Mtn., and is also available to San Diego Cox Cable subscribers on Channel 4 San Diego.
The champions of the 2010 Poinsettia Bowl, San Diego State is looking to go to bowl games in consecutive seasons for the first time in the Division I era and first time overall since 1966 and 1967.
San Diego State recorded its fifth victory of the season last Saturday with a 35-7 triumph over New Mexico at Qualcomm Stadium.
Sophomore running back Ronnie Hillman recorded his 13th 100-yard rushing game of his career with 141 yards on 29 carries. Junior Walter Kazee scored a career-high three touchdowns and added 39 yards on the ground.
The SDSU defense was dominant, allowing just 162 yards of total offense and eight first downs. After intermission, the Aztec unit allowed a mere 41 yards and two first downs. The Aztecs forced seven three-and-outs in 12 New Mexico possessions.
San Diego State has won three straight at Hughes Stadium and has claimed five of the last six meetings overall against Colorado State, boasting a 17-13 all-time record vs. the Rams.
