Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate Results After 36 Holes

The San Diego State women's golf team finds itself in second place after 36 holes at the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate in Palm Desert, Calif. The Aztecs shot a 26-over 602 at The Classic Club and is 10 strokes behind tournament leader Fresno State.

Christine Wong (Richmond, B.C., Canada) finished day one action with a 3-over 147 after shooting a 2-over 74 on the first 18 holes and a 1-over 73 over the next 18. At 3-over, the junior finds herself in a two-way tie for second with Fresno State's Madchen Ly, just one stroke behind clubhouse leader Louisa Lies of Fresno State (146; +2).

Sophomore transfer Tessa The (Los Altos, Calif.) completed her first 36 holes as an Aztec with a 5-over 149 showing. The went 74-75 on Saturday and is just three shots back of the leader and in sixth place.

Malin Enarsson (Gothenburg, Sweden) enters Sunday's final round in seventh place two shots behind The and five behind the leader. The senior shot a 2-over 74 in the morning before finishing with a 77. Her two-round total was 151, which puts her at 7-over for the tournament.

Gina Clark (Murrieta, Calif.) sits in a tie for 20th place after logging a 75 on the first 18 and an 81 in Saturday's final round. The junior ended her day with a 12-over 156.

Freshman Amy Alston, meanwhile, finished just one shot behind Clark after posting a 13-over 157. The Mission Viejo, Calif., native shot a 77 followed by an 80, which puts her in a 23rd-place tie.

San Diego State, one of 15 schools in the tournament field, will begin found-round action on Sunday with a 7:30 a.m. PT shotgun start.
