In its final preparations before the Mountain West Championships, the San Diego State cross country team travels across town to compete in UC San Diego's Triton Classic on Saturday. The women's 6,000-meter race is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. PT.

Joining the Aztecs and UCSD in the field are UC Irvine, Pacific, Cal State Bakersfield, Central Arizona, Fort Lewis, Western New Mexico, Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State Los Angeles, Cal State San Bernardino, Sonoma State and Cal State Monterey Bay.

SDSU is coming off a third-place finish of six teams at the UNLV Desert Invitational last Saturday. San Diego State finished with 99 points, narrowly beating host and fellow MW foe UNLV (101).

Junior Marianne Hogan led the Aztecs for the ninth consecutive race, completing the 5K course in 18 minutes, 28 seconds. Hogan finished third of the 60 runners and only lost to one collegiate competitor.

Josefine Koskinen (16th, 19:27), Taylor Johnson (23rd, 20:00), Hannah Carman (37th, 20:52) and Amanda Okun (39th, 21:06) rounded out SDSU's top five, while Kaitlyn Harrison (40th, 21:17) and Melissa Wendorf (41st, 21:18) were No. 6 and No. 7 on the team, respectively.

The 6K course starts on North Campus Athletic Fields and finishes on the Triton Track. In between there will be varied terrain on grass and dirt trails with sidewalk crossings.

There is limited parking available in front of the Spanos Building, but plenty of spots available in the Hopkins Parking Structure. Follow the Campus Loop Road past the Spanos Building and the track. The HPS will be located on the right side about ½-mile past the Spanos Building. For directions, visit here.

Real time results will be available at FlashWest.com or on UCSDTritons.com following the men's race.
