GOLD RIVER, Calif. - San Diego State's Varsity 8+ boat finished 12th of 17 competitors as it opened its fall season at the Head of the American regatta on Lake Natoma in Gold River, Calif.

The Aztecs completed the race in 18:06.39 as the USC `A' entry captured the vent with a time of 16:13.24. A total of 10 boats from Paqc-10 schools USC, Stanford and Cal finished ahead of SDSU as did St. Mary's.

San Diego State's boat was crewed by coxswain Jennifer Mille along with Julie Moyer (stroke), Chelsee Boyer (seven), Ciara Estrada (six), Romaine Desclos (five), Darian Kimball (four), Kaitlyn Goss (three), Kate Raymond (two) and Kayla McKenna (bow).

Up next for the Aztecs is the annual Newport Autumn Rowing Festival next Sunday, Nov. 6, in Newport Beach, Calif., with the first race scheduled to get underway at 8:00 a.m.
