SAN DIEGO - San Diego State senior midfielder Cat Walker was named to the Soccer America Team of the Week on Tuesday. The honor is the second of her career and comes two weeks after Sophie Metz earned the same distinction.

Hailing from Folsom, Calif., Walker was placed on the 11-person women's soccer team after netting two game-winning goals in 1-0 road victories at Wyoming and Air Force.

In the outing vs. the Cowgirls, Walker scored in the sixth minute and the Aztecs made the goal stand as they snapped Wyoming's nine-game unbeaten streak.

Two days later at Air Force, the teams played a scoreless 90 minutes, but Walker ended the contest with a goal from 10 yards out just 59 seconds into the extra session.

The midfielder now has a San Diego State-best eight goals, four game-winning scores and 17 points in 2011. In Mountain West games only, Walker is tied for the team in goals (2) and points (4), and owns an Aztec-high two game-winning goals.

The Soccer America honor is the second of the season for San Diego State as Metz was placed on the team on Oct. 11. This is the first time Walker has been recognized since Oct. 21, 2008. Overall, this marks the eighth time the media outlet has placed an Aztec on its team of the week.

SDSU wraps up its regular season with a road game at UNLV this Friday. The Mountain West finale is set for 4:30 p.m. PT.
