SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State baseball team will holds its second annual Halloween Game on Sunday, Oct. 30, at Tony Gwynn Stadium. Coaches and players will all be in costume for the five-inning contest, which is scheduled to get underway at 4:00 p.m.
There is no charge for admission and kids who attend in costume or in baseball uniform will receive special Halloween treats during the course of the game.
The Aztecs, whose recruiting class for the upcoming season has been ranked 25th in the nation by Baseball America, are just past the mid-point of their fall practice sessions. They will conclude preseason workouts with the annual Red-Black World Series during the first weekend in November.
That series will consist of three nine-inning games beginning on Friday, Nov. 4, at 5:00 p.m. Subsequent contests are schedule for Saturday, Nov. 5, at 11:00 a.m. and Sunday, Nov. 6, at 1:30 p.m.
San Diego State will open its 2012 season against Washington on Friday, Feb. 17, at 6:00 p.m. at Tony Gwynn Stadium.
