Aztec Story Lines
- San Diego State closes the regular season Friday afternoon at UNLV. The 4:30 p.m. PT match has key Mountain West title implications as the Aztecs and Rebels are tied for second place with 10 points and both trail conference-leader New Mexico by a single point.

- The Scarlet and Black, after suffering a disappointing 1-0 loss to Boise State on Oct. 16, responded with a pair of 1-0 road victories last week. The Aztecs shut down the hottest team in the league in Wyoming, 1-0, to snap the Cowgirls' nine-game unbeaten streak, and then won at Air Force in overtime, 1-0.

- SDSU carries a season-long-tying two-game winning streak into the UNLV game, but more impressive is its current four-game road winning streak. The road winning streak is the team's longest since its MW championship season in 2009 when it won five straight.

- San Diego State is playing its best soccer of the season having won four of its last five with the four wins coming by way of shutout. During the current five-game stretch, the Aztecs have allowed just one goal.

- SDSU has given up a single goal in its last 476 minutes, 44 seconds. In road games, the Aztecs have not allowed a goal in their last 386 minutes, 44 seconds.

- With nine wins, San Diego State has surpassed last season's total of eight and has matched the second-highest total (2007) in head coach Mike Friesen's five years at the helm. In 2009, the Aztecs won 15 ballgames en route to the conference tournament title and second round of the NCAA Tournament.

- A victory on Friday would give San Diego State two 10-win seasons in the last three years, something that has not been accomplished on campus since 1997-99. Those squads won 10, 19 and 15 games, respectively.

- Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week Cat Walker scored both of the Aztecs' goals last week and were done in rather quick fashion. The senior scored in the sixth minute at Wyoming off a pass from Sophie Metz and then followed it with a goal, assisted by Kelsey Booth, 59 seconds into overtime at Air Force. Walker has a team-best eight goals, four of which have been game-winners.

- With her effort over the weekend, Walker is now tied with Hannah Keane for the team-lead in goals (2) and points (4) in Mountain West games only. Metz is also tied with the aforementioned duo in points (4) after picking up the assist in Laramie.

- With her assist at Air Force, Kelsey Booth recorded her first career point. The freshman has played in 15 of the Aztecs' 18 games this season and has recently seen more playing time.

- The San Diego State defense and Rachel Boaz have been stellar in Mountain West action. The Aztecs have allowed a league-low one goal and are tops in the league in goals-against average (0.19) and shutouts (4). For all games, SDSU leads the MW with nine total shutouts.

- Boaz, individually, leads the Mountain West (league games only) with a miniscule GAA of 0.20, a .909 save percentage and three shutouts.

- Boaz, the MW Co-Defensive Player of the Week, sits atop the league's leaderboard due to, in part, the cohesiveness and steady play of the Aztecs' starting backline of Tiffany Hurst, Rachael McGlinchy, Haley Palmer and Kory Spotts. In the last five games, Spotts has played all 451 minutes with Hurst (437), McGlinchy (405) and Palmer (412) all logging similar minutes.

- SDSU is 8-7 all-time vs. UNLV and have won the last two meetings against the school, both of which have been shutouts. The Aztecs, however, are 3-4 vs. the Rebels in Las Vegas, but emerged victorious (1-0) in their last visit back in 2009.

- The trip to Peter Johann Memorial Field will be San Diego State's second of the season after playing a pair of neutral-site games there earlier this season. The results were mixed as the Aztecs defeated Hawai'i, 3-0, before falling to Seattle, 3-1.
