Beth Burns, the most successful coach in San Diego State women's basketball history, and her staff will play host to the Aztecs' second annual Basketball 101 on Wednesday, Nov. 9. The event, which is designed to teach the ins-and-outs of the game of basketball, will be held at Viejas Arena.

Participants can come early to watch the final 30 minutes of the SDSU women's basketball practice from 6-6:30 p.m. A reception featuring food and drinks provided by Rubio's Fresh Mexican Grill starts at 6:30 p.m., and the program formally gets underway at 7 p.m. Burns and her staff will then show participants how they break down offenses and defenses and provide basketball strategies and tactics via a number of on-court demonstrations until approximately 8:30 p.m.

Last season's first-ever Basketball 101, which benefits the Aztec women's basketball scholarship fund, sold out. The cost of this year's event is just $50 per person, and the registration deadline is Friday, Nov. 4. For more information, contact Tara Morrison in the SDSU women's basketball office by phone at (619) 594-4095 or via email at tara.morrison@sdsu.edu.
