COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State's Marianne Hogan has been named the Mountain West Cross Country Athlete of the Week, the league announced today. It is the fourth career weekly honor for the junior and the second of the season.

On Saturday, Hogan was the first collegiate finisher and took second overall of 120 runners to lead the Aztecs to a third-place finish of 11 teams at the UC San Diego Triton Classic. Hogan completed the 6,000-meter course in 22 minutes, 1.8 seconds, more than 15 seconds ahead of the next collegiate finisher (UCSD's Chia Chang, 22:17.5).

Hogan now has a first, a second and a third-place finish over her four races. If you take away the unattached runners, she has two firsts and a runner-up showing against college competition. Hogan has led SDSU for 10 consecutive races.

San Diego State is back in action on Oct. 29, when it heads to Fort Collins, Colo., for the Mountain West Championships.
