San Diego State plays its first regular-season Thursday game since 2006, as the Aztecs travel to Colorado Springs, Colo., to face Air Force this week. Game time is set for 6 p.m. MT (5 p.m. PT).
The game will be televised nationally in high definition by CBS Sports Network and it will be simulcast on Channel 4 San Diego (Cox Cable subscribers).
The matchup comes just 117 1/2 hours after the Aztecs lined up against TCU late last Saturday night at Qualcomm Stadium. That is 50 1/2 hours shorter than a full seven-day week or 30 percent less than a normal 168-hour week that the team usually has to prepare for a game.
The Aztecs are looking to rebound from consecutive losses to nationally-ranked Michigan (7-28) and TCU (14-27). Air Force marks the third consecutive opponent the Aztecs have faced that advanced to a bowl game in 2010.
Following the contest with the Falcons, the Aztecs' next outing isn't until Oct. 29. That means they will play twice in six days and then go 15 days without a game.
San Diego State opens a two-game homestand with Wyoming on Oct. 29, followed by New Mexico on Nov. 5.
