SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State men's and women's basketball programs will play host to open practices on Friday, Oct. 14, at Viejas Arena. Fans will get a sneak peak of both squads as they prepare for the upcoming 2011-12 season.
The event starts at 5 p.m. with fans getting a chance to catch the last part of the women's practice. An hour later at approximately 6 p.m., Aztec head coach Beth Burns will introduce her club before giving way to men's head coach Steve Fisher. After Fisher presents his 2011-12 team, fans can watch the first hour of the men's first team workout of the year from 6-7 p.m.
Fans interested in purchasing season tickets for either or both teams will have a chance to so at the arena on Friday. Men's basketball season ticket packages start at $99 and season ticket holders will receive one team highlight DVD per account to commemorate last season's Sweet 16 season. On the women's side, season ticket packages start at only $60 each.
The men open the season with an exhibition contest at home against Cal State San Marcos at 7 p.m. PT on Nov. 2, while the women start the 2011-12 slate with a home exhibition game vs. UC San Diego at 5 p.m. PT on Monday, Nov. 7.
