SAN DIEGO - San Diego State's nationally ranked women's tennis duo of Alicia Aguilar and Julia Wais are set to compete at the prestigious Riviera/ITA All-American Championships at Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif. Qualifying doubles action starts on Tuesday.
Aguilar and Wais, who are ranked No. 47, are one of 32 pairs in the draw. The Aztec tandem is slated to face Sacramento State's Rebeca Delgado and Tatsiana Kapshai. The Hornet team is currently ranked 16th in Division I women's tennis.
The San Diego State duo is coming off a successful weekend, one in which they won their draw at the SDSU Fall Classic I. Aguilar and Wais went 2-0 with the second victory coming against teammates Roxanne Ellison and Sierra Ellison, who are ranked No. 59 in the ITA poll, in the championship.
