SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State volleyball team gave head coach Deitre Collins-Parker her 200th career win in a three-set (25-19, 25-11, 25-20) sweep over visiting Wyoming Thursday night at Peterson Gym. The Aztecs improved to 8-4 overall and 1-1 in Mountain West play, while the Cowgirls fell to 10-7 and 1-2.

Collins-Parker, now in her 15th season as a head coach, has wins at UNLV (89 wins), Cornell (73) and San Diego State (38)

SDSU finished with a .387 hitting percentage and dominated almost every other offensive category in the team's fourth three-set sweep of the season.

Andrea Hannasch, Paije Pearson and Reagan Shelton combined for 32 kills to pace San Diego State. Hannasch had 11 of the kills and a game-high seven block assists, an ace and an assist, while Pearson added 11 kills and seven digs.

Shelton, meanwhile, had 10 kills and a career-high .667 hitting percentage. The sophomore also contributed three digs and two block assists.

Kristi Jackels had a game-high 11 digs, three assists and two aces, and Chaiymin Steel added eight kills, four digs, two block assists and an ace.

In the opening set, the Aztecs broke open an 8-8 tie with four straight points. Wyoming battled back to get to within two at 12-10, but SDSU went on a decisive 9-2 run to get up, 21-12. San Diego State survived a late Cowgirl rally to hold on for the 25-19, first-set win.

The Aztecs jumped out to a good start in the second set, taking a 13-3 lead on an attack error by Wyoming's Jodi Purdy. The Cowgirls got to within seven at 14-7 on an attack error on SDSU's Steel, but would never get any closer in the set. San Diego State closed on an 11-4 run to take commanding two-set lead heading into intermission.

Wyoming got out to a small lead in the third set at 6-3, before the Aztecs responded with a 10-point run to get up, 13-6. The Cowgirls slowly grinded into the SDSU lead and only trailed by five at 24-19, but had a bad set on the final play of the match, giving the home team the 3-0 win.

San Diego State is back in action Sunday when it takes on Colorado State at noon PT. Fans are encouraged to come and wear white as the Aztecs attempt to "Pack the Pete" in the nationally televised game (CBS College Sports).
