San Diego State returns home this week to take on Cal State Fullerton on Tuesday, Sept.20, at 6:00 p.m. on Aztec Court in Peterson Gym. It will be the Aztecs' first home match since Aug. 27 when they faced Nevada in the final contest of the Aztec Invitational. SDSU will open its 2011 Mountain West season on Friday, Sept. 23, when it travels to Las Vegas to meet UNLV at 7:00 p.m. in Cox Pavilion. San Diego State will conclude its week with an away match at UC Riverside on Sunday, Sept. 25, at 3:00 p.m. in UCR's Student Recreation Center.

SERIES RECORDS
SDSU holds a 41-5 lead in its series vs. Cal State Fullerton that began in 1976. Over the last eight meetings between the two teams each side has won four matches. In those eight contests since 2003 the home team has emerged victorious each time. Both of the most recent two matches in Peterson Gym have gone five sets.
The Aztecs' all-time record againstUNLV stands at 20-12 since the teams first met during the 1985 campaign when both were members of the Western Athletic Conference. San Diego State has won the last five encounters between the teams including a pair of 3-0 victories last season.
SDSU leads the series with UC Riverside by an 11-1 margin. The Highlanders' lone victory over the Aztecs came during the 2005 season in San Diego during the Aztec Invitational. Last year's 3-0 SDSU win in Peterson Gym was the first meeting between the schools since that UCR win.

FOUCH ALL-TOURNEY HONOREE
Sophomore setter Johnna Fouch was named to the all-tournament team at this past weekend's DePaul Invitational in Chicago. Over SDSU's three matches she averaged 12.30 assists per set and 2.60 digs per set. It was the second straight tournament in which Fouch was an all-tourney honoree as she received the same accolade at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Collegiate Classic in New Orleans Sept. 2-3.

NASH BREAKS OUT
Sophomore outside hitter Summer Nash recorded her first two double-figure kill efforts of the season at last weekend's DePaul Invitational. She notched 10 kills vs. Kansas in the tourney opener and had 16 in the match vs. Valparaiso. Nash averaged a team-leading 3.50 kills per set over the Aztecs' three contests. In Saturday's contest vs. DePaul and Valparaiso she averaged 4.25 kills while hitting .375 over the six sets. Her 16 kills in the match against Valparaiso on Sept. 17 tied her career high which she set at Utah during the 2010 season.

JACKELS DIGGIN' IT
Junior libero Kristi Jackels averaged 4.60 digs per set during last weekend's DePaul Invitational as she moved her season average to 4.10 digs per set. She recorded her first kill of the year in the tourney opener against Kansas. Jackels tied her season high with a pair of service aces in the victory over DePaul. She has reached double figures in digs in every match with a high of 26 vs. Tulane on Sept. 2.

SEXTON SERVES IT UP
Senior Kyley Sexton leads the Mountain West this week in service aces at 0.43 per set. She recorded at least one ace in each of SDSU's first four matches of the season and has now done so in seven of the team's nine contests. Sexton had a career-high four service aces in the three-set win over Nevada on Aug. 27. Her 19 kills in the win over Portland are still the most by an Aztec in 2011.

HARRIS DEBUTS
Middle blocker Emily Harris, a sophomore transfer from Western Michigan, made her Aztec debut this past weekend at the DePaul Invitational. She appeared in every set of SDSU's three matches in Chicago, averaging 1.70 kills, 0.60 blocks and 2.00 points per set. Her best effort came in the win over DePaul when she had eight kills, two blocks and a .462 hitting percentage.

HANNASCH LEADS THE OFFENSE
Junior middle blocker Andrea Hannasch leads the San Diego State offense in kills, blocks, service aces and points/set. She ranks among the top five in the Mountain West in each of those categories. Hannasch's total of 23.5 points in the season-opening contest vs. UC Irvine was a career best. She has recorded a pair of double-doubles (kills-blocks) this season, the fourth and fifth of her Aztec career.

THE RECORD BOOK
A trio of Aztecs will make their marks in the SDSU career record listings before the end of the 2011 season. Libero Kristi Jackels' 1,029 digs places her eighth on the Aztec top 10 in that category. Seventh place is currently held by Kim Harsch (1983-86) with 1,042 career digs. Sophomore setter Johnna Fouch and junior outside hitter Andrea Hannasch should crack the SDSU top 10s in assists and block assists respectively around the mid-season mark. Hannasch needs 43 block assists to catch Rene Pankopf (1983-86) for the No. 10 spot on that list while Fouch needs 154 assists to move into a tie for 10th with Lauren Van Orden (2008-09).
