SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women's soccer team is ranked No. 22 in the Soccer America Women's Top-25 Poll, which was released on Monday. The Aztecs make their first 2011 appearance in poll after defeating Minnesota and No. 4 Portland last week.

On Friday, SDSU received a goal in the 84th minute to break a 1-1 tie and downed the visiting Golden Gophers, 2-1. Two days later, the Aztecs scored in the 25th minute and used a phenomenal defensive effort as they took down the fourth-ranked Pilots, 1-0.

San Diego State is making its first appearance in a top-25 poll since finishing the 2009 campaign ranked No. 16 by Soccer America. That season, the Aztecs won the 2009 MWC championship and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Scarlet and Black return to the pitch on Friday, Sept. 2, when it plays host to Central Florida. Game time is set for 4 p.m. PT at SDSU Sports Deck.
