SAN DIEGO - San Diego State head coach Rocky Long announced that seniors J.J. Autele, Miles Burris and Ryan Lindley have been named football team captains for the upcoming 2011 season. The three were selected in a vote by their teammates last week.

Autele, a senior defensive lineman from Waipahu, Hawaii, has played in 28 games in his three seasons as an Aztec. He was one of two true freshmen to earn a start on the defensive line, but saw his season cut short after a torn ACL and MCL in 2008. Autele played in 11 of SDSU's 12 games the following season and logged 12 tackles, while starting the final three outings against Wyoming, Utah and UNLV. Last season, Autele played in all 13 contests and was tied for fifth on the team in sacks.

Burris, a senior linebacker from Granite Bay, Calif., has tallied minutes in 37 contests and made starts in 25 of those games since arriving at SDSU four years ago. He is coming off a breakout 2010 year in which he recorded team-leading totals in tackles (80), tackles for a loss (20) and sacks (9.5). Burris was also the Mountain West's sack and tackles-for-a-loss leader and was named to the all-MW first team.

Lindley, a senior quarterback from Alpine, Calif., enters his fourth year as SDSU's starter. In 36 contests, he has already amassed 9,537 career passing yards and 67 touchdowns. Lindley had his best season a year ago, throwing for 3,830 yards and 28 TDs to lead the Mountain West in passing (294.6 ypg.) and total offense (292.2 ypg.). He was a second-team all-conference selection as a junior and enters 2011 within striking distance of the school's all-time career passing record currently held by Todd Santos (11,425).

San Diego State opens the season this Saturday against Cal Poly at Qualcomm Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. PT, and individual game tickets start at $11.

Tickets can be purchased online through GoAztecs.com, over the phone by calling (619) 283-7378, or by visiting the Aztec Ticket Office at Qualcomm Stadium's Window "E." The ticket office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
