SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State athletics department has announced that admission to both San Diego State women's and men's soccer home games is free for the 2011 season.

The women's season gets underway on Friday at 4 p.m. PT against Arizona at SDSU Sports Deck. The Aztecs then play six of their next seven at home, with contests scheduled against Minnesota, Portland, UCF, Alabama, Columbia and Long Beach State. The men, meanwhile, will officially open its 2011 schedule with an exhibition on Sunday against UNLV at 1 p.m. PT at SDSU Sports Deck. Similarly to the women, the Aztecs then play four of their next five games at home, with games against Canisius, Long Island, Manhattan and Penn.

The women, who are led by fifth-year head coach Mike Friesen, were picked to win the 2011 Mountain West championship in the league's preseason coaches' poll. SDSU returns 14 letterwinners and seven starters from last year's squad that finished with a MWC record of 5-2.

The men, on the other hand, return eight starters and 11 letterwinners from a 2010 team that went 10-7-2, the program's first 10-win team since 1994 (10-9-0). SDSU has been picked to finish fourth in the 2011 Pac-12 preseason poll.
