Other SDSU representatives at the Thorpe Cup included volunteer coach Robert Dean and freshman heptathlete star Allison Reaser. Former San Diego State men's athletes Wes Williams (400-meter hurdle Olympian) and James King (400 meters) also attended the event.

Other U.S. stars at the event included men's defending world champion Trey Hardee, 2011 world leader Ashton Eaton and 2008 Olympic gold medalist Bryan Clay, and women's 2011 U.S. champion Sharon Day and 2008 Olympic silver medalist Hyleas Fountain.
