SAN DIEGO - San Diego State senior punter Brian Stahovich and senior place-kicker Abelardo Perez have been named to the National Preseason Special Teams Watch List by the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA). Stahovich was one of 32 tabbed to the punter trophy watch list, while Perez was among 25 players nominated for the kickoff specialist award.

The CFPA bases each annual honor on players' statistics and the level to which they help improve the overall success of their teams.

Stahovich led the conference in punting all season and finished 2010 with a 45.4 yards per kick average, the eighth-best mark in the country and the third highest average in program history. The first-team all-Mountain West honoree had 16 punts for over 50 yards as a junior, including a school-record 89-yard boot at Wyoming that ranks second in conference history.

Perez, a second-team all-MW honoree in his first season for the Aztecs, converted 17 of his 22 field goal attempts and was second in the conference in scoring with 105 points. His 1.31 fields goals per game tied for second in the league and 31st in the country.
