For the second straight game, the San Diego State softball team gave up a walkoff home run in a 13-11 loss at UNLV Sunday afternoon in Las Vegas, Nev. The Aztecs dropped to 29-19 overall and 5-5 in Mountain West Conference play with their third straight loss, while the Rebels improved to 24-18 and 6-5.

SDSU rallied back from two four-run deficits to tie the game in the top of the sixth inning. San Diego State then took an 11-9 lead in the seventh when sophomore Kamerin May (Corona, Calif.) hit a solo homer, her second of the day, and redshirt freshman Devin Gray (Durham, Calif.) scored on an RBI single by senior Jessica Camello (Temecula, Calif.).

UNLV responded with four runs in the bottom half, capped by Ashli Holland's three-run homer to end the game. Holland, who yesterday was 5-for-5 with two home runs and four RBIs in UNLV's 11-10 extra-inning win, homered twice today and drove in five runs.

Kamerin May led the Aztec offense, going 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBIs. She became the fourth SDSU player to ever homer twice in a game and the second this season (freshman Lorena Klopp (San Diego/Steele Canyon HS) has accomplished the feat twice this year).

Camello had three hits and three RBIs, while junior Justeen Maeva (San Diego/Mira Mesa HS) had two hits, two runs and a walk. Junior Ashley Rose (Antioch, Calif.) drove in two and scored a run, while Klopp and Kristin May (Corona, Calif.) each added an RBI.

Senior All-American Samantha Beasley (San Diego/Steele Canyon HS) took the loss after allowing eight runs on nine hits over 4 2/3 innings of relief. She struck out six. Junior Bailey Micetich (Woodland, Calif.) gave up five runs on six hits and three walks over the first two innings.

SDSU wraps up its regular season with a three-game homestand, beginning Thursday at 6 p.m. PT against Colorado State.
