The San Diego State women's golf team dropped three spots in the standings to 17th place following its second-round 23-over 311 Friday at the 2011 NCAA West Regional in Auburn, Wash. The Aztecs' 36-hole total of 45-over 621 is four strokes more than Pepperdine and Georgia, who are both tied for 15th, while it is five more than Oklahoma and Portland State, who are knotted in 13th at the par-72, 6,266-yard Washington National Golf Club.

Junior Malin Enarsson (Gothenburg, Sweden) continues to be SDSU's top golfer, despite sliding four spots into 45th place with her second-round 77. Enarsson had two birdies for the second day in a row, but in between them, had three consecutive bogeys. She then notched seven-straight pars, followed by a double bogey on the 13th and two bogeys on her final two holes to move to 9-over 153 for the tournament.

Senior Stephanie Arcala (Oceanside, Calif.) was the only Aztec to cut strokes off her day-one total, carding a team-low 4-over 76 to jump from 66th to 53rd with a 10-over 154. Sophomore Alessia Knight (Bologna, Italy) had five pars in a row to start the round until she notched back-to-back bogeys on holes 6-7, 10-11 and 16-17 to log her second consecutive 78 and move up from 66th into 63rd at 12-over par.

SDSU sophomores Christine Wong (Richmond, B.C.) and Gina Clark (Murrieta, Calif.) both fired rounds in the 80s and are currently in a tie for 89th and 94th place, respectively.

Top-ranked USC is ahead of second-place No. 13 Tennessee by seven strokes as the only school in the 24-team field under par with a 4-under 572. Lady Volunteer Erica Popson extended her day-one lead from one to three strokes with her second consecutive sub-70 round for a 7-under 137. USC's Lizette Salas is second with a 140, followed by UC Davis' Demi Runas at 141.

San Diego State concludes the NCAA west regional Saturday, teeing off at 12:30 p.m. PT from the 10th tee along with UTSA and Pepperdine. The top eight teams and top two individuals not on those squads advance to the NCAA national championships.
