FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Six Aztecs earned All-Mountain West Conference Outdoor Track and Field honors, the league announced on Monday. All-conference selections are awarded to the top three finishers in each event at the MWC Championships, which wrapped up on Saturday in Fort Collins, Colo.
SDSU was led by Whitney Ashley, who was named to all-league team in the shot put and discus throw. Ashley earned the meet's high point award after winning the shot put and discus and finishing in fourth in the hammer throw.
Allison Reaser earned all-league honors in the heptathlon after capturing the title with wins in five of the seven events. Reaser finished first in the long jump, javelin throw and 800-meter run on day two after winning both the 100 hurdles and 200 during the opening day of competition.
With her first-place finish in the pole vault, Kelsy Hintz was also named to the All-MWC team. It was Hintz's fourth-consecutive time clearing 13-00.00 and the win gave San Diego State its 13th pole vault title of a possible 24 (indoor and outdoor) since the MWC began in 2000.
Teammates Shanieka Thomas and Alex Evans were recognized for their performance in the triple jump, finishing second and third, respectively. Jeanette McConnell, meanwhile, earned all-conference honors after finishing third in the discus throw with a toss of 187-06.
San Diego State will be back in action from May 26-28 at the NCAA Preliminary meet (West Regionals) in Eugene, Ore.
