Freshman Hayley Miles (Antelope, Calif.) singled home redshirt senior Lindsey Marquez (Tustin, Calif.) with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the San Diego State softball team to a 2-1 victory over New Mexico Saturday at SDSU Softball Stadium. The Aztecs finished the regular season with a 32-19 record, including an 8-5 mark in Mountain West Conference play, while the Lobos dropped to 19-26 and 5-10.

SDSU now awaits a possible bid to the NCAA tournament, which will be announced on ESPNU at 7 p.m. PT Sunday. The public is invited to watch the selection show with the team in the auditorium of the Fowler Athletic Center.

It appeared the game was going to go into extra innings, until Marquez doubled with two outs in the bottom of the seventh. Miles followed with a single up the middle on a 3-2 pitch to give San Diego State its fourth walkoff win of the season.

Miles drove in the Aztecs' other run in the fifth, scoring pinch runner Roshana Lavery (San Diego/Mission Bay HS) from second base, to finish her first MWC season with a .512 average (21-for-41) and 12 RBIs.

UNM took the lead in the top of the fifth when Kaity Ingram scored on a Kerry Hodgins double.

Miles had two of SDSU's four hits, while Marquez doubled and walked. Junior Ashley Rose (Antioch, Calif.) also doubled and senior Jen Wisneski (Riverside, Calif.) walked twice.

Junior Bailey Micetich (Woodland, Calif.) (19-11) got the win for San Diego State after tossing a perfect 2 1/3 innings with two strikeouts. Senior All-American Samantha Beasley (San Diego/Steele Canyon HS) got the start and allowed one run on five hits and two walks. She struck out four.
