The San Diego State softball team snapped a modest three-game losing streak in a 4-1 victory over Colorado State Thursday night at SDSU Softball Stadium. It was the 30th victory of the season for the Aztecs (30-19, 6-5 Mountain West Conference), who now have 11 30-win seasons in the 12 years of the MWC.

SDSU jumped out to a lead in the second, scoring two runs with two outs. The first score came when junior Ashley Rose (Antioch, Calif.) doubled home sophomore Kristin May (Corona, Calif.). Senior Jessica Camello (Temecula, Calif.) followed and beat out an infield single. On the play, the heads-up Rose rounded third and beat the throw at home to put San Diego State up, 2-0.

After Brittany Palish's solo home run halved the Aztec lead in the top of the third, the home team used four consecutive singles for two more runs in the bottom half. The final two singles by junior Justeen Maeva (San Diego/Mira Mesa HS) and sophomore Kamerin May (Corona, Calif.) led to senior Jen Wisneski (Riverside, Calif.) and junior Felicia Reifschneider (San Diego/Morse HS) scoring from second base, respectively.

All nine batters in the SDSU lineup reached base safely, led by Camello's 1-for-1 outing with two walks and a sacrifice bunt. Wisneski (single, walk) and Rose (double, walk) each reached twice for San Diego State.

Aztec junior pitcher Bailey Micetich (Woodland, Calif.) picked up the win after allowing one run on five hits over seven innings. She struck out eight.

SDSU welcomes New Mexico at 6 p.m. PT Friday.
