SDSU Softball Plays Host to Colorado State, New Mexico on Senior Weekend
The San Diego State softball team closes out its regular season this weekend at home against Colorado State and New Mexico. The Aztecs (29-19, 5-5 Mountain West Conference) hosts Colorado State (8-40, 1-11 MWC) at 6 p.m. PT Thursday, before welcoming the Lobos (19-23, 5-7 MWC) for solo games on Friday (6 p.m. PT) and Saturday (1 p.m. PT).

Following Saturday's game there will be a special postgame ceremony honoring SDSU seniors Brooke Petty (San Diego/Vista HS), Taylor Sutton (Gilroy, Calif.), Eva Sahatdjian (Fresno, Calif.), Jessica Camello (Temecula, Calif.), Samantha Beasley (San Diego/Steele Canyon HS), Lindsey Marquez (Tustin, Calif.) and Jen Wisneski (Riverside, Calif.).

Last weekend, San Diego State was the victim of two walkoff home runs by UNLV in a 11-10 loss in eight innings on Saturday (May 7) and a 13-11 decision on Sunday (May 8). The losses ended the Aztecs' 11-game winning streak against the Rebels.

Eleven of SDSU's 19 losses this season have come against nationally ranked teams, including seven against top-10 schools and 2010 Women's College World Series foes. So far the season, 19 of the Aztecs' opponents made last year's NCAA tournament.

Junior Justeen Maeva (San Diego/Mira Mesa HS) continues to lead the San Diego State offense with a .348 average to go along with four home runs and 30 RBIs. Camello (.343, 35 R), freshman Hayley Miles (Antelope, Calif.) (.338, 29 R) and Wisneski (.321, 6 HR) are also over the .300 mark, while freshman Lorena Klopp (San Diego/Steele Canyon HS) has school single-season records in home runs (15) and RBIs (45). Aztec junior pitcher Bailey Micetich (Woodland, Calif.) is 16-11 and leads the MWC with a 1.95 ERA
