SAN DIEGO - The KGB SkyShow, the largest fireworks display in San Diego, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17, following the Aztec football game against Washington State at Qualcomm Stadium. Due to the postgame fireworks show, the start time for San Diego State's contest with the Cougars has been moved back 30 minutes, with kickoff now set for 3:30 p.m. PT.

"Thanks to the Mountain West Conference television partner, we are able to make the switch for kickoff from 3 to 3:30 p.m.," SDSU associate athletic director Steve Schnall said. "The flexibility of The Mtn. enables us to play Washington State and immediately follow the game with the KGB SkyShow under a dark sky."

This marks the eighth consecutive year that the fireworks extravaganza has been held in conjunction with an Aztec football game, with the previous seven outings drawing an average of 50,205 fans. Last season, SDSU averaged 34,133 fans per home date, an increase of 24.8 percent compared to the 2009 average.

San Diego State season football tickets start at $66 and include reserved seats to all seven Aztec home games. The 2011 home schedule features contests against TCU (13-0 in 2010 and Rose Bowl champions) and Boise State (12-1 in 2010 and Las Vegas Bowl champions), as well as matchups with Fresno State and Washington State.

A $50 deposit is currently being accepted for 2011 football season tickets. San Diego State fans can place their deposit by visiting the SDSU Qualcomm Stadium Ticket Office located at window E, by calling the ticket office at 619-283-SDSU or by going online to GoAztecs.com. Single-game tickets go on sale this summer.

The San Diego State football team is coming off of its most successful season in recent memory, finishing the 2010 campaign with a 9-4 record and beating Navy, 35-14, in the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl to record the school's first bowl game victory since 1969.

The Aztecs return 14 starters and seven all-conference selections for the 2011 season, including explosive sophomore running back Ronnie Hillman, 2010 conference passing leader Ryan Lindley and conference sack leader Miles Burris.

Additional promotional events for Aztec home games will be announced at a later date.
