Senior Jen Wisneski (Riverside, Calif.) hit a three-run homer and junior Bailey Micetich (Woodland, Calif.) tossed her second consecutive shutout to lift the San Diego State softball team to a 4-0 victory over UNLV Saturday at SDSU Softball Stadium. It was the 11th straight victory for the Aztecs (29-16, 5-2 MWC) over the Rebels (21-17, 3-4 MWC).

SDSU broke open a scoreless game with three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Senior Jessica Camello (Temecula, Calif.) hit a one-out double and moved to third on a passed ball when redshirt senior Lindsey Marquez' (Tustin, Calif.) drew a four-pitch walk. After Marquez stole second base, Wisneski took a 2-1 pitch well over the left field fence for the eventual game-winning hit. It was Wisneski's fifth home run of the season and the 11th of her career (tied for sixth in school history).

San Diego State added an insurance score in the sixth thanks to good baserunning by junior Felicia Reifschneider (San Diego/Morse HS) and shaky defense by the UNLV infield. Reifschneider drew a five-pitch walk, and then stole both second and third base. With two outs and Camello at the plate, Rebel first baseman Tayler Van Acker dropped a throw by second baseman Ashli Holland, which allowed Reifschneider to score the final run of the game.

Camello had three of the Aztecs' six hits and is now batting .560 (14-for-25) in MWC play and .344 overall. Wisneski had two hits and has reached base safely in 17 consecutive games. Sophomore Kamerin May (Corona, Calif.) also singled for SDSU, which improved to 17-1 when leading after five innings.

The runs were plenty for Micetich (16-9), who allowed seven hits and two walks over seven innings in the shutout. The right-hander struck out six and has now gone 15 2/3 innings without giving up a run, the third-longest streak of her career.

Amanda Oliveto (18-9), who has thrown two no-hitters this season, took the loss for the Rebels after yielding four runs (three earned) on six hits and three walks. Paige Emerson had two hits to lead the UNLV offense.

SDSU begins a five-game road trip Thursday at Brigham Young (6 p.m. MT). Both the Cougars and Utah (San Diego State's Friday and Saturday opponent) are tied for first in the MWC with a 5-1 record.
