SDSU Softball Wraps Up Four-Game Homestand Saturday Against UNLV
The San Diego State softball team wraps up a four-game homestand Saturday against UNLV. The Aztecs (28-16, 4-2 Mountain West Conference), who are receiving votes in the latest ESPN.com/USA Softball poll, and the Rebels (21-16, 3-3 MWC) will begin play at 1 p.m. PT.

SDSU is 47-34 all-time against UNLV and has won 10 straight in the series. San Diego State's last loss in the series was a 1-0 home decision on May 6, 2007. In addition, the Aztecs are 16-3 against the Rebels since 2006, including a 8-1 mark at SDSU Softball Stadium.

Last weekend, SDSU had its school-record tying 13-game winning streak snapped in a 3-2 loss to Utah on April 14. San Diego State lost an eight-inning, 1-0 game to Brigham Young the following day, before reversing the score in eight innings on April 16 to salvage a split with the Cougars.

Eleven of SDSU's 16 losses this season have come against nationally ranked teams, including seven against top-10 schools and 2010 Women's College World Series foes. So far the season, 18 of San Diego State's opponents made last year's NCAA tournament.

The Aztec offense is batting .288 this season with a school-record 29 home runs, while its slugging percentage of .438 is .028 points higher than its previous season best of .410, set in 2006. Junior Justeen Maeva (San Diego/Mira Mesa HS) continues to lead the team in hitting with a .361 batting average to go along with four home runs and 29 RBIs. Senior Jen Wisneski (Riverside, Calif.) is having a career-best year with a .333 average and a .537 slugging percentage, while senior Jessica Camello (Temecula, Calif.) (.331, 32 R) and freshman Hayley Miles (Antelope, Calif.) (.315, 25 R) are still hitting over .300. Freshman Lorena Klopp (San Diego/Steele Canyon HS), meanwhile, has set school records with 14 home runs and 42 RBIs just six games into conference play.
