SAN DIEGO - San Diego State senior center Paris Johnson (San Diego, Calif.) was named the 2010-11 women's basketball MVP, Aztec head coach Beth Burns announced Wednesday evening at the team's year-end banquet at the Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center on campus.

The school's all-time leader in career blocks and consecutive starts, Johnson was a four-time all-Mountain West Conference pick and a two-time selection to the league's all-defensive squad during her stint on The Mesa. The San Diego High grad rounded out her collegiate career by ranking second in program history in field goals (647) and free-throw attempts (530) and is third in points (1,598).

SDSU sophomore Gabrielle Clark (Los Angeles, Calif.), meanwhile, received her second consecutive Tammy Blackburn award for her contributions to the team both on the court and in the classroom. Fellow classmate Kalena Tutt (Long Beach, Calif.) was named the squad's most improved player for the second straight year. A season after sharing the honor with guard Jené Morris, senior Jessika Bradley (Sacramento, Calif.) earned the best defensive player award.

Bradley played two seasons as an Aztec and was named the 2010 Mountain West Conference Newcomer of the Year and a 2011 third-team all-league honoree. As a senior, she led the conference in blocked shots and posted a team season-high in rebounds for the second campaign in a row.

SDSU senior guard Coco Davis (Sacramento, Calif.) led the MWC in assists per game (6.3 apg.) and was also honored for her contributions as team co-captain, while junior forward Candace Chambers (Seattle, Wash.) was named the most improved scholar-athlete.
