SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women's basketball team took time out this past Saturday morning to give back to the community by volunteering at the 1st Annual EX 4 VETS on the flight deck of the USS Midway Museum in downtown San Diego.
Aztec basketball student-athletes and coaching staff members, including head coach Beth Burns, donned workout gear and helped encourage the crowd for the hour-long aerobic exercise event that featured kickboxing and boot camp fitness training.
EX 4 VETS helped raised money for three important causes that support military veterans, including the Embrace Home Restoration for Wounded Veterans, Embrace's service of homeless veterans and civilians and Veterans Village of San Diego.
SDSU participated in Ex 4 Vets through its relationship with Embrace, a nonprofit organization in San Diego that is designed to connect college student leaders to the multi-cultural community in the areas of social and physical wellness through service learning and volunteerism.
