SAN DIEGO - Visiting Wyoming used a 7-0 run with just under seven minutes left in the second half to break open the game and go on to claim a 63-50 victory over the host San Diego State women's basketball team Wednesday at Viejas Arena. The loss spoiled the final regular-season home game for Aztec seniors Jessika Bradley, Coco Davis and Paris Johnson, as SDSU fell to 12-15 overall and 6-9 in league action, while the Cowgirls improved to 22-6 and 12-3 in MWC play.

Three players, Davis (Sacramento, Calif.), sophomore Gabrielle Clark (Los Angeles, Calif.) and junior Sajoyia Griffin (San Antonio, Texas), led San Diego State in scoring with nine points apiece. Bradley tallied nine boards, four assists and three blocks, but was only 2-for-11 shooting from the field. Her front court running mate Johnson also struggled on the offensive end, making three of her 18 shots for six points to go with eight rebounds, three assists and three blocks. Davis added six rebounds and six assists and junior tandem Candace Chambers (Seattle, Wash.) and Kalena Tutt (Long Beach, Calif.) combined for five more of the team's 11 total blocked shots on the night.

The Aztecs opened the game with a 10-point advantage at 14-4, but then went scoreless for the next six minutes, as the Cowgirls took the lead at 15-14. SDSU rallied to tie the score at 20 and led by a point heading into the final seconds before Wyoming's Aubrey Vandiver hit a leaning 3-pointer at the buzzer to put her team in front 30-28 at the break.

The schools traded leads six times in the second half and it was just a one-point game with 6:53 left to play at 46-45. The Cowgirls then went on a 7-0 run and never looked back, turning a six-point advantage with 2:55 left in the game into a 13-point victory at the final buzzer with the score 63-50.

San Diego State made seven 3-pointers and had 15 assists, but shot just 33.3 percent from the field, including a 28.1 mark in the second half.

Wyoming was led by the conference's leading scorer, Vandiver, who had 28 points and 13 rebounds in playing nearly all 40 minutes.

SDSU plays its final regular-season game on Saturday at Noon PT at Colorado State in Ft. Collins, Colo. The Aztecs and Rams are currently tied for fifth place in the league standings with identical 6-9 marks.
