SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State rowing team will face meets against two northern California schools this weekend as it travels to face Sacramento State and UC Davis.
On Saturday, March 19, the Aztecs will be on Lake Natoma to take on Sacramento State in four races. Action gets underway with the Varsity 4 event at 8:00 a.m. that will be followed by the Junior Varsity 8 at 8:20, Varsity 8 at 8:40 and the Novice 8 at 9:15.
Directions to the Sacramento State Boathouse can be found by clicking here and going to the bottom of the page to click on Directions.
The following day (Sunday, March 20), SDSU will be at the Port of Sacramento to face UC Davis in a trio of races. The first event will be the Varsity 8 competition at 8:30 a.m. The Novice 8 boats will compete at 8:50 with the Varsity 4 race schedule to start at 9:10.
To find the UC Davis Boathouse from the US-50 East or the I-80 West, exit at Harbor Blvd toward the Port of Sacramento. Turn right on Industrial Blvd and left into the gate after approximately 200 yards. Follow the paved path to the right around the perimeter of the Laborer's Training Center. When the paved path dead ends, turn right down the dirt path toward boathouse. The best place to watch the races is from the Industrial Boulevard Bridge.
Last season the Aztecs won three of four races in their regatta against UC Davis, but did not face Sacramento State during the 2009-10 campaign.
