AUSTIN, Texas - San Diego State freshman Kelly Marquenie made her debut at the 2011 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in the 500 freestyle Thursday in Austin, Texas. She and teammate Katelyn Weddle are representing San Diego State at this year's title meet.
Marquenie finished seventh in her heat the morning prelims of the 500 free in a time of 4:46.52. Her mark placed her 46th overall of the 62 athletes competing in the event.
On Friday, Weddle will make her meet debut in the 100 breaststroke while Marquenie will also be in action in the 200 freestyle. The preliminary time trials began at 11:00 a.m. (CT)
