Freshman Lorena Klopp (San Diego/Steele Canyon HS) homered twice and drove in four runs to lead the San Diego State softball team to an 11-3, six-inning victory over Mississippi Valley State Sunday in College Station, Texas.

Klopp had a two-run home run in the bottom of the first inning and two-run homer in the sixth that ended the game in favor of the Aztecs (11-13). Klopp, who finished the day with three hits, four RBIs and two runs scored, now has seven home runs on the year, which ties Erryn Gutjahr (1999) for the most in SDSU single-season history. In addition, she became just the third Aztec to homer twice in a game and first since Melissa Owens in 2007.

San Diego State had 12 hits for the game, including seven for extra-bases (two homers, five doubles). Senior Jessica Camello (Temecula, Calif.) doubled twice and scored twice, while senior Eva Sahatdjian (Fresno, Calif.) (2-for-3, two RBIs, double) and sophomore Kamerin May (Corona, Calif.) (2-for-3, two runs, double) also had at least two hits for the Aztecs.

Junior Justeen Maeva (San Diego/Mira Mesa HS) had a two-run double, while freshman Hayley Miles (Antelope, Calif.) had a single, RBI and a run scored. Redshirt freshman Devin Gray (Durham, Calif.) walked twice and scored a run.

Junior Bailey Micetich (Woodland, Calif.) picked up the win after allowing no runs over 1 2/3 innings of relief. She struck out one and allowed two hits to even her record to 7-7. May got the start and gave up three runs on five hits over 4 1/3 innings. She struck out five.

The Aztecs play host to Saint Louis at 7 p.m. PT Tuesday night.
